In 1966, Andrew (Andy) Perlinski followed in his father’s footsteps and founded Town & Country Foods in Livingston, Montana. A second location opened in Bozeman a year later, and in 1970, a new store was built on North 19th Avenue to replace the original two locations.

Andy’s sons, Jerry and Jim, purchased the family business from their parents in 1986. Town & Country Foods formed an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in 1988, which initially purchased Jim’s interest in the company. In 2013, the ESOP purchased Jerry Perlinski’s interest, making the company 100% employee owned.

The company began a period of significant expansion in 2007 with a new store in Livingston, followed by a second Bozeman location on 11th Avenue in 2010. Further growth included openings in Belgrade (2015), Dillon (2019), Lewistown (2020), Billings (2021), and a third Bozeman location (2022). In 2024, the 19th Avenue location was decommissioned and replaced by the Ferguson Farms location in Bozeman. Most recently, Town & Country Foods opened its ninth location in Helena in 2025.

Recognized for affordable prices and excellent customer service, these full-service grocery stores offer quality and value across fresh produce, dairy, meat, bakery, and deli departments.
